How do I get the right fit so I don’t look like a box?

Forget everything else and look at the shoulders. The seams need to sit right on your shoulder bones. Period. If they’re drooping off, it’s too big. You want it snug through the body, but not suffocating. You should be able to zip it over a t-shirt and still be able to reach for something without wincing. It should feel sharp. Like a second skin, but way cooler.

I’m afraid I’ll wreck it. Is it super high-maintenance?

No. Just the opposite. This jacket is meant to be worn hard. Don’t baby it. All those scuffs and creases that are going to happen? That’s character. That’s what makes it look good. If you get something on it, a damp cloth is all you need. Maybe, maybe, some leather conditioner once a year if it looks thirsty. Seriously, that’s it. Just live in it.

Will the black dye fade or look cheap over time?

It won’t fade. Cheap jackets fade. A good one just… breaks in. The black stays black. But the jacket itself gets softer and starts to fit you like it was made for you. It gets creases in the right places. It stops looking brand new and starts looking like your jacket. That’s what you want.
